Jonathan Blackburn’s history with community development and the non-profit sector enables him to provide strong coaching to leaders of small and growing grassroots organizations. He has led a variety of community-based nonprofits and faith congregations, giving him first hand knowledge of the complexities, challenges, and opportunities community leaders are facing. Jonathan works closely with clients to help them build their leadership skills, strengthen their organization, and create change in their community.
Other community development experience includes a special research collaboration with the NGO, Bread For the World, Asbury Theological Seminary, and Eastern University that focused on advocacy through higher education institutions. Jonathan has served on the steering community for the Disparity in Minority Confinement (DMC) committee of Fayette County.
Jonathan’s educational journey includes completing a Ph.D. in Intercultural Studies, and an MA in Leadership from Asbury Theological Seminary. He holds a bachelor of science in community and human services from Empire State College (SUNY), and an associates in management from Erie Community College.
He is married to LaDonna Blackburn, and they are the proud parents of Jonathan Jr., James, Lydia, and Naomi. Jonathan lives in Jacksonville, FL and he enjoys family time, traveling, reading, writing, and playing sports.
