Sarah Byrne-Houser joined Community Equip’d with over 20 years of experience in advancing the work of nonprofits through advocacy, community engagement, and professional growth opportunities. With a focus on stakeholder management, program design, and developing “third places” as an essential component of community vitality, Sarah leverages cross-cultural humility to advance organizational missions and impact objectives. With a commitment to lifelong learning, Sarah strives to approach change management and group interactions with professionalism and a sense of humor. Sarah holds a Master’s degree in Professional Leadership for Nonprofits from Carlow University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Loyola University in Maryland. She also obtained a certificate in Diversity and Inclusion earned through the University of Pittsburgh.
In addition to her work with Community Equip’d, Sarah serves as the Program Officer for External Partnerships at POISE Foundation.
Outside of her work in the philanthropic community, Sarah leads dance fitness and high-intensity interval training classes throughout the region. Her large extended family includes two sons, Killian and Declan, young men whom she and their father strive to raise with empathy and humor.
